Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites

Here are some of my favorite things / moments / people from this week!

1. My Office is finally workable! Yay! This is a big praise - I have been working on the sofa in our living room - and it's just not the same as an office :) It is no where close to decorated to my liking - but I still love it. Here's a peek at a view from my desk. . . Yep - Gilmore all day every day ;) One day I'll do a post when the office is complete!

Lamp & Sequin Shade (HomeGoods)

2. I got a hair cut! WooHoo! My hair was CRAZY long for a very long time - trying to get it as long as possible for our wedding. Then in June I chopped 6 inches off! Then in July 3 more inches. Then on Tuesday I chopped another 3.5 inches off. LOVE IT! I love having long hair & I love having short hair - it's just nice to switch it up now & again. I am currently growing out my roots for a dream hairstyle I will show one day. . . BUT it's such a pain growing them out! Photos do not like my roots - they make it look like a much more dramatic difference than in person. Anyways - poor me - blah blah blah - life will surely go on :) Here's a pic I took yesterday of the new locks :)

New Cut :)

3.  Yesterday was like a Friday to us - because we are traveling to Charlotte for work tomorrow. SO we got to celebrate Thirsty Thursday no better way than with some fireballs and Mexican food. YUM! I LOVE spending time with my guy - especially when it involves drinks & Mexican food.

I'll Post this recipe soon :)

4. I LOVE me some ShopBop Sale - and this year - here are my two favorite finds! I've wanted these jeans for SO long. They get nothing but great reviews - but my size 26 sells out so quickly - whether it's at ShopBop or Nordstrom. Blank Denim has several other pair that are on my wishlist. . . And hopefully you'll see them on my Insta soon :) I hadn't scouted out this ring before I started shopping - but once I saw it - it was a total impulse buy - and SO worth it. I've worn it almost everyday since it arrived at my doorstep :)

My Insta Round Up On Monday Will Have All The Outfit Details :)

Ring Link Will Be In Insta Roundup Monday :)

5. Another favorite from this week. . . my Red Currant Votivo Candle! This scent is so different and addicting - LOVE IT!

6. My final Friday Favorite is this cutie - she couldn't help but photobomb my mirror selfie :) So I had to take a snap of her being so cute!

Meet Marshmallow Newton

Marshmallow Newton
Downtown Greenville October 17th, 2015
Marshmallow Newton was born on April 22nd, 2015. She is an all white Goldendoodle with a curly tail, light eyes, and a light brown nose. She is the cutest thing in the world { to us :) } She came home with us on June 16th, 2015. She's been ours ever since :)

Meeting Marshmallow For The First Time & Taking Her Home June 16th, 2015
She is almost 6 months old and 50+ pounds! We think she is already fully grown. She is still as hyper as can be - total puppy :)

Marshmallow LOVES looking out the window :)  September 11th, 2015
Marshmallow is the sweetest dog - she really is. She gives doggie kisses ALL THE TIME! She is such a snuggle bug. She loves to play - mainly by herself. She loves other dogs more than anything in the world. She is also crazy about people - especially kids. She is a trouble maker though - she loves being naughty. She is all about socks, paper towels, toilet paper, and undies ;) She knows when she's being naughty - she will prance in a room with a sock in her mouth - look at you then run like Fred Flintstone's feet! And that is just one quirk that we are so glad she has - even though it's naughty - it's precious. She is everything we have ever wanted in a dog and we couldn't love her more than we do right now!

Walks around our neighborhood & park :) August 22nd, 2015
Silly enough, we weren't sure we were getting a white Goldendoodle - we thought we would be getting a gold one - but so glad we got white - just different :) But anyways - onto her name. . . We were going to have a gold Goldendoodle named Marshmallow. . . hmm. . . Weird right? The reason being a little show called "How I Met Your Mother." This is our FAVORITE show. And our two favorite characters are Marshall & Lily. SO we decided we would get a standard size Goldendoodle in a light color & then eventually {Like 2-3 years} a red color miniature Goldendoodle. If you're familiar with the show - then you probably know where we're going with this - but if not - Marshall is a big tall guy who is madly in love with this tiny red head named Lily. They have nicknames for each other. . . Marshmallow & Lilypad. SO we were going to name our doggies those names and have their colors and sizes be similar to the characters. So far we have Marshmallow - but we have decided not to name the next one Lilypad - the reason being we LOVE the name Lily - and God willing we have a daughter one day (In the WAY future - like 10 years future) - we would love to name her Lily - but it would be weird to have a dog named Lilypad and a daughter named Lily haha. So we have decided to take another character - Ted - and name our next red color miniature Goldendoodle after him :) Once again, if you are familiar with the show - you know Teddie West Side. . . so her name will be Teddie.

Goin' To The Chapel. . .

WE'RE MARRIED!

Praise the Lord! On May 2nd, 2015 I married my best friend & love of my life.

5 Years Together. 21 / 22 Years In The Making.

He is the most amazing guy. He is the most loyal friend - the sweetest heart - the most generous & kind spirited - the cutest smile - the kind of deep belly on the floor laughing kind of funny - the most God seeking - the can't stop won't stop kind of worker - the deepest brown eyes - the best puppy daddy - and truly my other half. I could go on and on about how wonderful my husband is, but I'll just go smother him in love instead of boring y'all :)

Ceej & I are the bestest friends. No one makes me smile the way CJ Newton makes me smile. No one will ever know me the way he does. No one will ever know the purest joy & love I have for him. He's mine forever. Next to Jesus as my salvation, he is the greatest gift I have and will ever receive from God. You know that saying, "We finish each other's sentences." or "We finish each other's sandwiches." aka 'Frozen' ;) - we don't even have to speak and we just know - I absolutely love that. We laugh all the time and love at all times. The love we share is pure joy & comfort. We are constantly in our own little world - and I love every second of every day with him. AND I could go on about how in love we are. . . BUT. . .

We fight, we get selfish, we speak too soon, we get impatient, we get upset easily (ok that's just me), we forget to do important things, we get lazy, we do so many sinful things every day - and that's marriage. That's the part of marriage no one told me about. People told me it would be difficult at times and unbelievably amazing at times. And they were so right. BUT. No one told me that I was going to be my worst enemy. No one told me that I would be the reason marriage was hard. No one told me how selfish I was. I thought marriage being "hard" would be about finances, kids, and making time for each other. I didn't know marriage being "hard" would be about me being the grace needing girl that I am. Marriage has brought me SO much closer to the Lord - He has revealed so much about me that I had never known - and I've known me for 21 years now. Yes, He's shown me how sinful I am, but through that, He's shown me how much I need Him and that I desire Him above all else. The Lord has blessed our marriage in so many ways in the past 5 & 1/2 months - and every sinful moment  has taught us so much about each other. And just when you think ugh... why would I ever want that? Let me share with you. . .

Even though marriage has shown me how sinful I am and my husband is. It is the very best thing in the world. Nothing nothing nothing will ever be as great as marriage. And that's Biblical. I am always with my best friend. He's never leaving. It's a constant laugh fest. It's a wanna stay up until 3am binge watching Game of Thrones kind of fun. It's let's have a serious conversation about how good tequila really is. It's filled with crazy love & romance. It's a bond that only a husband & wife can share. It's the Saturday morning coffee date. It's the how have you never dipped Oreos in milk kind of good. It's the best travel buddy. It's the yes, I'll watch all of Lord of The Rings with you - you're serving him big time by doing that one. It's learning how to cook and definitely having some failures - like shouldn't homemade pizza be easy - UH NO. It's the really good recipes that bring back such sweet memories. It's getting up 5 times a night for a puppy TOGETHER. It's cleaning a dog covered in poop on a Sunday morning TOGETHER. It's going to church to build community together. It's that constant encouragement. It's the smallest touch to the piggy back rides everywhere. It's COUNTLESS blessings like these that make up our marriage. I wouldn't trade our marriage for anything. Happy doesn't even describe life together. Life together is the BEST.

Here's some pictures from our wedding day - hopefully I'll have the video to share soon!
